Project Details

Chilli Adventures & Backpackers is a relaxed place with home-made furniture and a friendly vibe. They have a large garden which is ideal for campers, comfortable dorms, regular and en-suite doubles with TV’s and DVD players. Even the campers and dormers have their own TV with DSTV (cable/satellite channels) and a DVD library. Play some pool, take a dunk in the saltwater swimming pool, braai up a whirlwind or dazzle self-caterers with your culinary skills in the fully equipped kitchen. Alternatively, kick back and ask Chilli Adventures & Backpackers to cook for you.

Accommodation

Staff accommodation on site in a wooden cabin with bed linen, towels, electricity, hot & cold water, heaters and unlimited access to the internet provided. Wi-Fi links also available. Management endeavours to keep these cabins private so that volunteers won’t have to share these facilities with guest, however this can not be guaranteed.

Chilli Adventures & Backpackers will provide the volunteer with groceries which they can either cook on there own or with the staff. The owner will also accommodate reasonable transport requests by arrangement. There is access to public transport (bus and mini bus) close to the Backpackers Lodge. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

What will you do?

Main duties would include bartending, booking guests in and out of their rooms, reception, arranging tours and activities, interacting with guests, managing the cleaning staff, online web bookings, marketing, and the general day to day running of the backpackers.

When on tour the volunteer will assist with setting up camp, cooking, cleaning, socialising with clients etc. Hours vary over weekdays and weekends and volunteers are expected to work and average of 40 hrs a week, however these hours are flexible. Volunteers can wear casual clothes while on duty.
