Journal Entry: Niklas Rugge - Germany - 2012-02-13

What was your personal highlight of the day/week?

My personal highlight of the week was to visit the south of the Welgevonden Game reserve. The nature was beautiful and wrapped in the soft light of the morning sun. We saw 25 rhinos, two lions, the crocodile, elephants and a lot of other animals. It was amazing.

What interesting fact did you learn today/this week?

I have learnd so many things about wildlife and working in a reserve. I have learned to identify animals and birds, how to survive without water and food nd that you sometimes have to destroz a plant or an animal to save and conserve the nature.

What was your favourite species that you saw today/this week?

My favourite species was the cheetah. It is a beautiful and elegant creature.

Are you enjoying your camp accommodation?

There are a few holes in the tent, so lizars came visit us a few times. But all in all it is reallz ok. We would live in the nature and it is nature.

How does South Africa differ from your home country?

South Africa differ a lot to Germany. It is much warmer, there is more life in the nature and the people are sometimes more friendly, but also sometimes more intrusive. Nevertheless it is a great country.
