Chilli Adventures & Backpackers is a relaxed place with homemade furniture and a friendly vibe. There is a large garden ideal for campers, comfortable dorms, as well as regular and en-suite doubles with TVs and DVD players. Even the campers and dormers have their own TV with DSTV (cable/satellite channels) and a DVD library. Play some pool, take a dunk in the saltwater swimming pool, braai up a whirlwind or dazzle self-caterers with your culinary skills in the fully-equipped kitchen. Alternatively, kick back and ask Chilli Adventures & Backpackers to cook for you.

Accommodation

Staff accommodation on site in a wooden cabin with bed linen, towels, electricity, hot & cold water, heaters and unlimited access to the internet provided. WiFi links are also available. Management endeavours to keep these cabins private so that volunteers won’t have to share facilities with guest, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Chilli Adventures & Backpackers will provide volunteers with groceries, which they can either cook on their own or with the staff. The owner will also accommodate reasonable transport requests by arrangement. There is access to public transport (bus and minibus) close to the Backpackers Lodge. All shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

What will you do?

Main duties would include bartending, booking guests in and out of their rooms, reception, arranging tours and activities, interacting with guests, managing the cleaning staff, online web bookings, marketing and the general day-to-day running of the backpackers.

When on tour, the volunteer will assist with setting up camp, cooking, cleaning, socialising with clients and so on. Hours vary over weekdays and weekends and volunteers are expected to work an average of 40 hours per week, although these hours are flexible. Volunteers may wear casual clothes while on duty.
